The next thing they will ask for is extensive protection by law enforcement because ofc driverless trucks are much easier targets than ones that have a driver. There will be all kinds of exploits for the software. We've already seen this in autonomous driving taxis where protesters were able to trap them by putting a pylon on the hood.
Of course the Texan government will cut them a generous deal because everybody wins. The cops win because they get easy money sitting on the highway. The government wins because they can say they're making everyone safer. The trucking company wins because they have more revenue. Oh and the truckers? Well... whoe else is there for you to vote for anyways?
