You could study all the available images of Kinkade’s work and train yourself to produce new images in that style. It might make you a derivative hack, but there’s nothing illegal about it.
The AI does the same. It’s just better at it, doesn’t have an ego, and has a negligible per-image production cost once it’s been trained. So it can give you a thousand faux-Kinkades in a day and not find the whole thing abject and depressing.
