It's upsetting to think we've always said robots will replace certain jobs but oh a robot couldn't do art, it wouldn't feel natural. Us prompting an AI to frankenstein digital art and even create something in someone's specific style, this is not natural.. It's morally just terrible. It can take 8hrs+ to make something yourself and the entire time you worry about it not looking right only to see someone else with a picture in your art style you spent ages cultivating all in a picture that just makes me think "Oh this looks better" And I actually want to give up. The tldr - Copyrighting/take downs are an arguable thing. Credit should be given or artwork changed so it's no longer your art and a stolen commission. Similar or nearly identical artists artwork should have the same right to claim it if there is no credit given to tell ect but comparing is a small thing so long as the main issue is that art is yours. It's up to them to appeal it, not you. Lastly AI are capable of giving refs to where it took particular pictures probably based on a % used. Creating a kind of receipt/ref even like a bloody essay ref is extremely easy for an AI. I believe there should be laws put in place around copyrighting i.e I don't think Disney would be happy when AI animation (Currently in the works) can eventually create an entire Disney movie themselves. Everyone knows Disney and everyone knows Narutos art style. You cannot use either in commisioned art and anything published will be flagged and taken down. Copyrighting and being able to say "Hey that's my art style, please take that down" Because it isn't true you can't argue a style of art but you can. You have your specific style but also the specific way you colour ect and being able to put a side by side too much similarity gives you the right to have that taken down and then it's them who'd need to argue otherwise. This, like a lot of things and unfortunately just the majority creating the law on the internet that stolen art like this either needs credit given or it's subject to copyright claim. But that's up to the artist. Maybe we sort of have a type of way to "This is changed enough that it's acceptable and no longer someones stilen commission" art. On the subject of frankenstein art, the ability to search everywhere as an AI means it looks up specific things relating to your prompt and the category or whatever. An AI looking for material is more than capable of creating a reference list. We can tell others to add that if they post AI art that's clearly that type of frankensteined artwork and you know, it just gives a little credit and validation knowing that it disturbingly used your art in some way to create a picture but at least it can like.. Give a receipt.
