I think people dont understand that chat gpt and all of these language models are not actual AI and are infact just glorified search engines.This is ridiculous. By saying that Chatgpt will take over software engineers because "it passed google level 3 programming test" is like saying you have an insane vocabulary because i give you a dictionary and ask you to define obscure words. Its ridiculous, these questions are questions you need to do on the spot. People need to understand what fear mongering is and need to analyse data. Tech companies have profited so much due to the craze of AI even though it is nothing special. tech companies have been increasing in the amount of engineers they are hiring for the next two years. Give an idiot chatgpt and tell them to make system level memory management software that doesnt have bugs. Using tools to help engineering has been a thing forever.
IN SHORT: do not be frightened this is simply the media pushing this agenda because fear mongering = profit. AI fears have been going on for so long.
