I disagree with the part that Chatgpt was lying. Let's assume we are talking with a child who doesn't have knowledge of physics. If he asks, Does the apple on the table touch the table? Anyone would say yes, even if they know that there is a distance between atoms of the table and the apple and they don't literally have contact with each other. In this case, no one would say you lied to that child. That's an easy way to communicate based on knowledge of the second person we are talking with. Chatgpt is designed to talk with normal people and not philosophers!
