Sorry, but I have to point out the moment when Hinton is describing the good scenario. He automatically suggests the CEO is a man and the AI assistant is a “she.” I’d like to see someone use AI to kill misogyny and the patriarchy. Thank you. One of the biggest problems with controlling AI is that the “bros” building and training it are all men who are teaching it sexists and racists biases. Most unknowingly but still teaching/programming AI to have these inherent beliefs and prejudices. I have seen several examples working with AI. The most telling was working on with someone doing art based on dolls and doll-making. ALL of the AIs I used changed all references to “doll” and “doll-making” to “deal” and “deal-making” and gender references to “he/his/him.”
