UBI would turn a capitalist economy into a socialist economy.
Why tax people more instead of tax the companies/corporations more for the profits they gain from automation and AI and use that to cover the UBI for the general public?
Also more people unemployed would be less money the government collects through federal income tax, state tax etc while more people will be dependent on unemployment benefits.
