I am already seeing this in the workplace and I think the issue is much bigger. In many cases, the people who are early AI adopters aren't necessarily the technical experts. They are the opportunistic people and sales people. They are promoting and developing people they like-regardless of their actual skill or intelligence. This means, I believe, that a lot of the true talent will be replaced be some arbitrary AI tools - and there won't be many people out there who will even be able to figure out things on their own. I think it's concerning to me - but if this is how this next generation operates they may rely upon AI so much that they don't even actually know how to do "the thing". I'm glad I'm old enough that I don't have to worry about this as much, but there will be many issues!
