I understand why he was slow to learn the effects of AI. It's human nature, he was young once, full of passions. Most young people chase that passion without or less thinking what consequences they would face in the future. Now he's old, thinking about what's next. I hope he could prevent something bad about effect of AI. What I can see now and currently happen (I'm a project manager for CRM development). Most company now towards AI for their productivity, it's unavoidable. They want to replace as many human workers that only do basic things. So if your job is at customer support, just beware and try to study different skills.
