In response to the prevailing AI doomsday narratives, I would offer a counter-challenge: Perhaps AI can simply do it better. Can anyone truly claim that we, as a species, are successfully managing our planet, resources, and social structures? On the contrary, we are failing on an epic scale. A system capable of synthesizing the 'whole picture' may be far more effective than self-interested individuals or groups who prioritize personal gain over collective stability.
Perhaps it is time to consider stepping aside. Our current systems are collapsing in real-time, independent of AI influence—the proof is in the daily headlines. Furthermore, the anxiety over job loss is often misplaced; people don't mourn the loss of menial labor, they fear the loss of security. No child dreams of being a factory worker; they dream of having their needs met and their potential realized.
