You know, one aspect that I feel some people forget about when discussing the longevity of a robot or AI is that, it too, has a life span. Sure, it will be more durable than humans, but their parts will wear down, and they need sustenance and energy to continue running their servers and AI just as much as we do to get up and take a walk in the morning. No amount of uploading and transfering their AI between servers and digital clouds will save them from an exploding star or a misplaced asteroid. Above all, the robots will be mortal, and to me that assurance is somewhat conforting.
