Your video is highly misleading. You conflate replacing ALL software engineers with replacing some (probably many) software engineers. I've got decades in this field, and the reality is that companies no longer need junior engineers. The jobs you used to get out of college are now being filled by AI tools, which allow someone like me who already understands how to build good software to be literally 10x faster. I can go from architecture in my head to well-structured implementation in very little time, without the issues you raise because I have replaced writing code with engineering oversight. Of course I have to review the code and the tests, make sure it performs correctly and scales. But the industry undergoing a massive shift that will see huge reductions in force. And just learning prompt engineering won't stop the layoffs. Only those with existing deep skills are safe - for now..
