I'm not good at digital art and I don't have a lot of time to focus on improving it so I've used GenAI(not ChatGPT I am not paying for that) to create a bunch of rough character ideas and saved everything into a folder for my world building. Due to the effects of ADHD I get interested in world build about once every 1-2 years. I tried drawing concepts at first but I was so bad and so slow that I would literally lose my ideas (and have intense hand pain)before I finished that phase of hyperfocus. I also can't afford to hire any artists right now and I don't know any artists I can hire for a literal hobby project. I know GenAI steals other people's artwork so I have no plans of profiting off of the images I saved. Once I get back into that hobby(eventually) there's going to be some heavy construction in order for me to have the balls to show anyone my ideas. GenAI "artists" have no shame, I can't say that I disprove of individuals using GenAI casually because I would be a hypocrate. But I am incredibly against big corporations who would rather fire half their workforce in order to make "stonks" go up. I also think using GenAI to alter real people (without consent) is incredibly unethical and at least for these two cases , there needs to be heavy regulation.
