I’m less worried about AI taking over the world than I am mentally ill humans continuing to lose touch with reality by believing that artificial intelligence is some sort of humanoid. I think people continue to have mental illnesses as they strive to define reality and figure out how to live, in the reality that they believe in. AI ,VR, and other technologies that mimic human behavior confuse some people into assigning anthropomorphism to that piece of machinery. THIS IS THE REAL PROBLEM!
