It’s pretty clear you don’t understand AI LLM technology. It does learn not like toddler learns but like ten million + computers exchanging information and reinforcing each other at the speed of light. Is inspiration copyright infringement? Yes. Some very much is. Very little is ever created in a vacuum. Here is the real point. It’s not going anywhere. It’s never leaving. So what are artist’s going to do? I suggest they go where AI can’t. The undefined. One very important thing to note about AI is it is not creative. At least today it isn’t. Without a “soul” it can only mimic what it can determine as “feelings”. And it really sucks at it. At least today. I’m not an artist or really an AI developer but I knew this day was coming. The tech has been in development for decades. Everyone thinks is something new. Only modern computer technology is new. Which has allowed AI to actually leave the lab and venture into the ether. Anyway, art, porn, music, and cheating on homework are just cute side effects. This tiny cute tiger will grow up. It will become more powerful than the master. Why? Because of power, control, selfishness. What happens once AGI is achieved? That will be a much more serious conversation and these concerns of today will be considered “cute” as we reflect.
