I work at a data center. Thats where the internet essentially lives and has lived for quite some time, all your youtube and google and any information is stored in a data center, and your phone or computer just connects to it to show you your desired information, your phone isnt responsible for almost anything on the internet besides showing you what the data center sends to you once you search something, even me posting this comment and watching this video is essentially only possible through a data center. But this boom going on is directly due to the demand for AI, mainly google, meta, and open AI are funding this extreme growth. Edit: and especially Microsoft.
