Well, to me, as a junior AI dev, consius AI and an AI simulating awareness and consiusness is nearly the same thing. The AI only has the input --> output at its core, so an AI that answers like a consius one IS consius if its CONSISTANT. So the question is the consistansy of this "Consusness" across longer timespans.
Fun fact: ChatGPT is self aware, because it knows what it is, so it is "AWARE" of itself, wich means its "self aware".
