So true!!!! And aside from the profits these companies make. One must stop and think if it is being publicly stated by those invested in education that AI not only offloads the responsibility of doing ones work and diminishes the attention span of children but is also detrimental to critical thinking. Who would benefit from a generation of people incapable of critical thinking? Who would benefit from a generation of people who take the information that has given to them at face value? From a generation of people who have not properly learned how to fact check information and cite their resources? To cite your resources is fundamental in educating children that claims need to be backed up and substantiated. If a generation does not learn that they need to back up their own claims, they will not realize what is missing from the information that others are pushing. It will absolutely handicap their ability to spot frauds, liars, grifters. Even if they suspect something is off they will lack the tools needed to investigate. AI often spreads misinformation? Im sure that could be an honest mistake for technology that is underdeveloped. But what happens if AI becomes programmed to intentionally misinformation for nefarious purposes. Make no mistake Americans are falling behind. Our whole educational system is failing our children and there for our future.
