Using AI to create art in my opinion is no different than being an art director of your own personal artist. The art director has as much to do with the artwork as the artist because they are the one's telling the artist what to draw and the feeling they are wanting. I sell shirts online that I've had people on fiverr create for me. Those shirts would never have existed the way that they do if I had not been the one directing it and explaining how I wanted it to look. Obviously its their skill set bringing my ideas to life but their skill set by itself never would have created my ideas on their own. I would never be able to bring my ideas to life without their help because I work too much and honestly dont have a passion for drawing. I do enjoy the process of coming up with unique and expressive ideas though. My main point is that once AI gets better at following specific directions it will mean that people with great ideas will have a more accessible way to bring their ideas to life. The ideas will still have a person behind it and people will be able to feel that as long as you can customize it to the detail or even greater detail you can with a real artist. Real artists will still have a place but only the ones that can carve out a solid niche for themselves.
