People who think of and use AI as just another 'TOOL' are dangerously misunderstanding and simplifying what it actually is.
Those who view it simply as a $ making resource are even more dangerous.
People REALLY Need to recognise that NEVER in the history of our Species have we created a tool that can, and will, evolve to surpass our intelligence.
And the TIMEFRAME to Internationally Regulate, Contain and Direct its exponential growth is fast expiring. # Approximately 12 months ago, several experts - People in on the ground floor of AI development - ALL cautioned that we had approximately 18 months to grab hold of this Genie before we lose the capacity to do so.
All of these were VERY Smart people. People who each confessed to being Genuinely FRIGHTENED of what it meant for Humanity if we missed this critical window.
Seems like most people focussing only on what AI can do for THEM & their POCKET, are not trying to close this window, don't even SEE the window... As for a worldwide internationally coordinated plan?
