Let’s not be afraid of A.I. - let’s start viewing it as a tool, not a threat. Instead of trying to stop progress, America should focus on preparing people through education, training, and structural economic change. The future isn’t about replacing workers with machines; it’s about empowering workers to work with them. We shouldn’t attempt to ban A.I. - we should shape how it’s used. Let’s start now by creating strong ethical laws and guidelines that ensure A.I. serves humanity. Let’s also begin reshaping our national focus toward reskilling displaced workers into new, meaningful pathways. When people have viable jobs and modern skills, fear disappears. A.I. will excel at automating the repetitive and routine tasks that most workers are tired of doing anyway. The real value of humans lies in our creativity, empathy, judgment, cross-domain thinking, and moral decisions - things machines can’t replicate. Public policy should encourage job models that amplify human strengths, not suppress them. This is also the perfect time to have an open conversation about Universal Basic Income (UBI)—a system that could provide every American with a financial safety net while they pivot into new careers, pursue home-based businesses, or explore creative work. Let’s remember industries like healthcare, education, law enforcement, the judicial system, and creative fields will always need a human touch. As a graphic designer myself, I love working with A.I. - it helps me create faster and expand my imagination further than ever before. The only thing we should fear about A.I. is not being prepared to use it. Instead of fearmongering, let’s channel that energy into investing in the American people. We can build a society where humans do higher-level creative, relational, and oversight roles just as God gifted us to do. Instead of hands on factory and low-level blue-collar work where our creativity and talents are unrecognized in roles where we barely get any sunlight throughout the day. There is a reason why Americans are deficient in Vitamin D... working in doors ALL DAY. The truth is, many of the jobs we’re worried about losing are already breaking human spirits- long-haul trucking, warehouse labor, grueling shifts with little rest. Let the robots handle that. Let’s guide Americans toward low-stress, fulfilling, creative careers that honor both mind and spirit. It’s time we stop working like Hebrew slaves, and start living like free creators of a new era.
