AI is both incredibly fascinating, as well as extremely worrying.
Honestly, I'm more concerned about the time between now and the singularity, than the singularity itself.
There are undoubtedly many many humans alive today that want the end of the world. I tend to be more optimistic that a super intelligent AI wouldn't just wipe out all or mankind, and I'll concede that this most certainly is a possibility, but again, what really worries me is how bad actors will use AI.
If we can somehow survive through this transitional period, then I have hopes that the future will be rather prosperous, but safety is definitely a concern, and unfortunately, not one that the world leaders of AI seem to be prioritising.
