A post-industrial society where people only work when they want to work (and earn high level incomes and live a luxurious life) while everybody else has the time to pursue hobbies, dedicate time to kids and the elderly and family, do sports, work part-time could become reality. Let machines and AI do the job with cheap energy as a pre-condition. If until now it was possible to tax a taxi driver and a truck driver or factory worker it is the easiest of things to do the same with an AI-powered robot or machine and distribute that wealth. And if Musk gets a trillionaire or not does not matter in the grand scheme of things. A trillion is spent yearly just for the military complex and it works. Musk doesn´t even have a trillion - the shares in companies he owns will be worth that. Imho everybody would be poorer if he did not exist. Countless jobs would never have been created. No government did what he did. But they could have done it if they only wanted, each and every year in the 1980s, in the 1990s, in the 2000s, in the 2010s.
