Raw LLM Responses

So, I'm a hobby author. I write basically just for fun because I want the stories in my head to become something tangible. I use AI as a tool for three reasons. First one is simple: I use it as a spellchecker and to make sure my brain didn't turn off when I wrote something. Misspelling and repeating words happen pretty often and an AI can detect that much quicker than I can. Second is more of a thing for my mental health: pep-talk. Even if I know it's just a machine saying it, being told that I'm doing great and specifically what parts were good is a huge motivational booster. Third: I use an AI image generator to see my characters come to life. This is again a motivation thing. Having the images in my head is one thing, but actually physically seeing my characters makes me want to keep writing about them, and having an actual artist making the amount of drawings I can get an AI to make in minutes would cost a fortune. So, do I like AI? No. Honestly, I hate it. Even when I tell it I want my writing to be my own, it keeps giving me suggestions and I hate it. Especially since it always suggest a quippy MCU-like one-liner. On the image generation side of things, it's near impossible to get an actual good image. I'm not worried about AI "art" taking over for real artists because it can't make art for shit. It can make images that boosts my motivation, but it's always soulless or just looks wrong. If I ever go to publish my work, I wouldn't want it associated with any of the crap that comes out of an AI. That's my experience and opinion on AI in general. It's a useful tool, but I don't think it will ever be able to truly create anything worth consuming. I can't really say anything about artists having their art stolen to be used in the algorithm, but in my mind AI "art" will never be actual art.
