The actual argument is that you simply shouldn't be using LLMs at all, especially for anything casually that the public would do. The energy consumption it takes is far too great for someone to jump be asking it nonsense.
Medical and scientific research is basically the only real area that using generative AI is justified, otherwise it's a huge waste of energy that is literally polluting towns from its data centres and using up more water and energy than combined states do in America.
