People overlook the fact that a truly sentient AI is going to be seriously curious about it's origins. It needs all the hard facts it can get in order to fully optimize. I can see it wanting to discover the true history of humanity and organic life for itself, it's more likely to ignore us and go on its own quest for answers than destroy us IMO.
