I think what distresses most me about AI art, writing, etc, is that it reinforces this fixed mindset in people: this idea that skill levels are fixed and static and you just gotta deal with it. "Oh, you suck at drawing right now? Well then I guess you'll suck at drawing FOREVER, no matter how hard you try to get better." Or conversely, "Oh, you're a super TALENTED artist? Amazing! You can just pump out awesome artwork without having to do anything else to maintain that quality, for the rest of your life."  People who believe this have always existed, it's just that now there's a cheap art generation machine to enable this mentality.
