AI lots of pointless activity not serving any measurable human benefit - the story of science from the beginning of time. Take the subject of starting a scientific career, the acquisition of your first PhD. Ten thousand + words on the most obscure crap that no-one cares about that merely serves to provide a small piece of evidence that you can do some reading and properly accredit people for the work they did, while demonstrating you learnt nothing very meaningful from that reading. Tens of thousands of PhDs acquired every year with virtually no beneficial human progression - have we fixed starvation, famine, water misuse, war, cancer, oligoply, monopoly, abuse of social media? meh!
