Even if you’re a digital artist “lazily tapping buttons” you’re still making the piece yourself with your own hands and your own effort without just getting a computer to do it for you. Yes there’s shortcuts like the fill tool, but even tools for traditional drawing like, as they mentioned, a smudging tool can be considered a short cut. The key difference though is that these short cuts are just small technical pieces for your drawing to save time. But when you just type out a few words into generative ai, you’re not making that art. You’re not putting in that effort, figuring out what tools you can use to get the results that you want with your art piece. Why are we STILL in 2025 hating on digital artists to the point of comparing them to ai “artists” and even trying to claim that they’re somehow worse—
