First, I love the concept here. And to anyone who reads this, I want you to remember that I agree with the message being presented, fully. I have been a student, tutor, teacher, and cheat. And not the "cheat" of using the resource, but think "Mike Ross" from Suits type of cheat, except instead of Law, I've done physics, math, computer science, and MBA course work for people. As a private school teacher I used my knowledge of my past to catch students who cheated. That said - I have used AI and will continue to use it to augment my learning and my communication. For instance, I have used it to help with writing a few math proofs. Mostly because the language needs to be concise and I'm terrible at it. I mean look at how long this comment is already. And when it comes to objective betterment of society (such as a math proof) I see no issue with these tools. I also don't see any issue with AI generated art for EXPLICITLY *PERSONAL* use. With the copyright drama associated with musical scores, some nerds got together and created literally every iteration of musical notation and put it in the public domain. Why? Because there were only so many iterations that could exists. Similarly, the Library of Babel did this with sets of 3200 characters. Software for personal use has been stripped away from the consumer in favor of these online subscription models. While I could agree with the sentiment that people should be paid for their work, we live in a world where we perpetuate scarcity for the sake of compensation. Why not eliminate all of it by providing everyone with the things they need. And then, it truly does become for love and enjoyment? I think your opinion on your work would differ if we didn't gate keep literally everything. -- Maybe then, those people will finally have time to engage in the relationships, learn, and create. <3
