Don’t worry this is only temporary. I work on an AI software that is meant to replace customer service. These companies are spending millions of dollars on this software in hopes of firing 85% of their human customer service base. But all the engineers and developers know that there will still be a need for human interface for the AI to run smoothly. It only has a 30% success rate and can’t perform efficiently when it’s customer becomes angry or does not speak clearly. The higher-ups believe that this will not be needed, but the people who built the software know that it will.
AI is not nearly as sophisticated as these companies think and they’re just going to have to hire you back to work the AI. While you’re laid off, get some AI certification courses under your belt and wait for that offer letter to come back around.
