The gorilla–human metaphor doesn’t really apply. If the gorilla had tried to “stop” evolution the way he suggests we should stop AI, humans wouldn’t exist… and he wouldn’t be here talking. Evolution flows by constantly improving and expanding control over the environment. A better analogy is Frankenstein: not domination, but a creation that eventually surpasses its creator. In the end, it’s likely not replacement but fusion — humans + AI co-evolving. Fascinating topic.
