AI can make some visually stunning images, yes. I will admit that I've come across several AI art accounts and was enthralled by the creations. That said, art is so much more than aesthetics. They're a part of it but not the whole picture. The meaning, reasoning, and thinking behind the art is part of the joy for both artists and viewers. When I was in art college we weren't just graded for our technical ability, but also for our process and problem solving if any problems arose. The whole ableist argument — These people are missing part of the point. Again, a huge driving force for creating art is the process. That's what makes it so enriching, at least for me. You can can create an aesthetically beautiful image within minutes with a promot, but that saps all the fulfillment out of creating. It's human psychology. If you make something THAT easy it just doesn't satisfy you the same. In saying that, any disabled person who gets into art most likely does so because they want to experience creating, not just the end product. I myself as an artist have felt so much imposter syndrome when I went from traditional media to digital. Digital art isn't as easy as creating AI art, but it still felt like I was cheating and a fraud. Lastly, yeah, photography stirred the art community. It's not that easy making good photography, though. You may have a perfect shot in your head but translating that to camera then to the screen/print takes a lot of effort. It's not as easy as lining up your shot and clicking a button.
