No, both groups are exaggerating the narrative of a powerful tool to justify the excessive use of resources and pump up financial stocks. Like Palantir, people literally funded its cage because it's powerful, who cares if it's evil?
For now, we have something like an assistant where you have to run several checks to make sure it hasn't made a mistake, because it doesn't think, it associates things. And to run these checks, you have to be qualified; your average John won't be doing vibe coding or anything else anytime soon. The robots that are supposed to replace workers can perhaps do something in a predefined, always similar environment, handling objects with a certain threshold of fragility or weight. A robot placed in my house must consider 10,000 variables
