As a beginner artist (I suck at it lol), I use 'modern' ai to grab a very general concept & to see what looks good. For example, I used an ai picture of a robot lizard to not only see a proper way to draw the head + lips but also to get a general idea for a pose that looked cool. Using it when you can't start an art piece to gain inspiration & small lessons of improvement is what I like about it for my own art.
However, it's scraping & ripping off from talented artists, so it'd be best if the modern ai art softwares didn't function at a level where it can compete with actual artists.
Alot of the time, I use the original Dall-e Mini that I believe started all the ai picture stuff. It's really funny & it can't compete with people it may rip off. Please spread word about Dall-e so there might be a slight reversal to a worse ai model that doesn't fight with the creators it takes from.
