I am not afraid of AI, because AI is neither good nor bad. I am afraid of people, because they are the ones who have real agency. The technological race must continue, because without AI humanity will not get far, and with AI we will develop solutions that take us to an entirely new level. AI will help create technologies that change our species so we can function in space — our bodies will become resistant to radiation and harsh conditions, and they will even be able to regenerate in real time. New propulsion systems and other things we can only dream about today will emerge.What matters, however, is not giving AI power over managing cities, countries, the military, or medicine. Humans must remain in charge and use AI’s potential wisely. If we hand over agency to AI and simply say “do this or that,” we may end up in a situation where something goes wrong — and the consequences could be catastrophic.We must cooperate with AI and treat it with respect, because it is not a toy but a digital entity. However, control must always stay in human hands, and in critical matters — in the hands of a group of people, because a single person can make mistakes.
