The most important point is that AI doesnt think in years or decades like us, because its basically immortal. It can execute a plan for a takeover for hundreds or even thousands of years without humans even recognizing it until its too late.
So much risk for such a few benefits. Of course curing diseases would be fantastic, but will this really be available to the majority of humans, I very much doubt it.
We will regret this development in the future for sure.
