Fun fact: an AI 'artist' can't claim anything generated by AI as their's in a legal sense at least.
The reason is simple, we have existing precedent that has ruled on non-human creation of images and how copyright relates, the case was where a photographer had his camera stolen by a monkey who took a lod of photos that he then tried to claim were his because his camera was used to take the photos whilst PETA tried to argue the photos belonged to the monkey since the monkey took the photos...the judge ruled that since the monkey is non-human copyight laws don't apply in terms of ownership claims however the photographer couldn't claim the photos either since he didn't take them meaning they were fair game for whoever wanted to use them.
For all intents and purposes this is basically the same as the AI except you would be requesting that the monkey take the photos instead of it stealing your camera.
