My take on ai is that it is not inherently bad but the way people use it generally is. Ai is an amazing tool in healthcare that can save lives which is honestly amazing. However, the way people have used ai to dodge highly rewarding but hard tasks is really sad. I know kids in my high school class who use ai to dodge actual understanding like it’s a bullet and then ask me for answers on tests. I am not an artist myself but I know some artists who want to make art for a living but they can’t rely on it because this ai art exists and people don’t want to pay for their art. Truly some peoples goal in life is to sit back, turn on the tv, and become a part of their couch. It has the potential to be helpful and instead we use it to attack ourselves because that is apparently what humans are best at. And if you feel like you don’t have a creative bone in your body you probably just haven’t looked around at the world in a while. Try searching online to find the coolest looking animal you can and coming up with a new name for it. Or do the opposite and look up cool animal names without looking at the animal and draw what you think it would look like. Watch video essays or even come up with insults. My sibling is great at that some examples of their work include “somewhere out there there’s a tree working hard to replace the oxygen you’re wasting” and “your portraits need neither string nor nails for they hang themselves.”
