I’m not an Artist yet but I want to put my thoughts out here since I feel like I’m the rare middle ground with an engineer background.
AI is a perfect “tool” and it should stay that way, give it access to the internet and software and all that to help the creative process become much easier and faster.
But I will never use AI to make art, I hate it, not because of what it is or what kind of people is using it, because I love making art, the process of making art is why I make it, if it is the process that I enjoy then why would I let a machine do it for me? And if you don’t enjoy the process can you really call yourself an artist?
So please don’t go witch hunting for artists that use AI as a support tool, being on both end of the extreme is a bad thing, and if you don’t start learning them you’re gonna get left behind.
