you can actually argue that the jump from traditional art to digital art actually constitutes some level of difficulty, since you still need to get used to things like parallax when drawing which is obviously not a thing when using pen and paper, on top of which you also do need to learn how to use the apps you're drawing on which you could further argue is a separate skill on its own.
Jumping from anything really (not just drawing) to AI literally requires no effort on anyone's part, and if anything, only serves to rust any skills that they might have had (though admittedly most people using AI probably didn't have skill to start off with so no huge loss there).
