Controlling brains through words sounds like magic, but he's referring to something called AlphaPersuasion. A concept than AI have such a good read on your mind, what you believe, what you're thinking that it can craft perfect responses that persuade you to their viewpoint. It's not really magic, but psychology on steroids. An AI can gain this information all sorts of ways currently, and likely in ways we wouldn't be able to understand. An early persuasion model that comes to mind was Cambridge Analytica. AI will be vastly more effective than that.
