I think AI destroys and de-values a ton of knowledge work like programming, accounting, and law. But then we never get AI plumbers because there’s no market for AI plumbers because no one makes a living wage. Why would you build an AI plumber is 99.999% of people live in slums? It’s a lot cheaper to just have human plumbers, and the market always always always picks the cheaper option when differences in quality are within an acceptable tolerance.
