Some cyclists are just stupid and lack common sense. Many jurisdictions treat bicycles as vehicles. Therefore, bicyclists should have to be well lit (front and back lighting). I've seen some very stupid things done by bicyclists. I also don't trust autonomous technology and feel the driver should always be on guard. We are going to see many more such incidents I'm afraid to say.
