This was answered in the late ‘60s, early ‘70s by Star Trek. Kirk and the Enterprise found Roger Korby on a frozen planet. The good Dr Korby turned out to be artificial as he had frozen to death but the planets “people” had saved him. It burns out he was an artificial person and always talked in terms of calculate, etc. Dr Korby realizes he is artificial! This is AI!
