I always try to explain to people that automation is the dream. The more jobs we can eliminate the less people that have to work for the same level of production. The problem isnt the automation taking away jobs, its the capitalists who see eliminating a job as an opportunity to make an extra $50,000.
Its the same as the space travel thing. The goal capitalists have in going to other planets isnt to move to other planets, its to send the poor to space to work while the rich live here in comfort. Progress isnt bad, capitalism is.
