@TheDiaryOfACEO Excellent enlightening interview! I really appreciate you exploring AI in several recent interviews. Having thought on AI risks and opportunities for about half a century (especially since hanging out in Hans Moravec's robot lab circa 1986 when he was writing "Mind Children"), the humor in my sig is the best I have to offer for a hopeful future: "The biggest challenge of the 21st century is the irony of technologies of abundance in the hands of those still thinking in terms of scarcity." Another aspect of that to address economic and political issues that Karen Hao brings up is to see there are at least five interwoven economies (subsistence, gift, exchange, planned, and theft) and that the balance between them can change in response to cultural and technological changes (e.g. various types of AI or other advanced technology affecting employment in the exchange economy).
