As an academic researcher with papers and books published I can fully relate to you.
I have seen how AI has invaded social media writing, technical writing and even creative writing. It is already taking over academic writing. I estimate in 3 - 5 years most academic articles and books will be fully made by AI, rendering most of my work useless. Add to that AI mixed with VR teaching most classes. I will probably have to become a plumber or a farmer, or a carpenter in order to make a living. Nothing wrong with that, all jobs dignifies, but in my case is a massive waste of individual and collective knwoledge and expérience.
Everybody is so excited and giddy with all the obvious advantages AI is bringing to our lives, but nobody wanna talk about the donwside. The massive loss of jobs. The downgrading of human creativity. The widening social and economic gap between the few winners and the many left behind.
