I have a relatively minor disability - I get pain and spasms in my dominant hand, which slows down my artistic output considerably and sometimes takes weeks away from me. It is incredibly frustrating, but I would still never use AI because, ethical reasons aside, only I can translate what’s in my head + there’s no satisfaction in clicking a button. I feel like pro-AI arguments using disability as a gotcha just fundamentally misunderstand the tenacity and satisfaction of being an artist. My family and I regularly buy art from a local disabled artist group that paint with their mouths and feet, something that I’m sure seems impossible or a waste of time to these tech bros ://
