tbh I'm one of the people that is one of the few good points in favor of AI art, and I still try to avoid it whenever possible. I have no money to support creators, I have no artistic talent or the confidence to try to become an artist over the several months to a year it could take me to acquire those skills, and what art I do use is for things that do not earn me income and are almost entirely private. The fact is, AI art has the same argument as piracy. "If someone wouldn't be able to pay you anyway but still wants to enjoy what you produce regardless, is it wrong to allow them an avenue to do so if they would pay otherwise?" The issue I have with AI art is that it's... *technically* transformative and thus gets to be able to claim it's different enough to not have to pay out artists. Also, to be honest, legally stopping AI from doing what it's doing would also create a legal precedent that artists can't emulate other artists styles, since it is... TECHNICALLY "learning" from your styles and emulating it for it's own creations. Personally, I support Piracy, and I support AI art for that specific niche. What I don't support is corporate use of AI art or people trying to resell it. As such, I prefer night shade and other things like it to exist, because unfortunately we can't have anything good anymore. Artists should have the right to protect their work.
